This mural was commissioned by Cork County Council as part of a proposal to paint a series of murals depicting important points in Macrooms history. This particular mural shows the last train at Macroom station before it was closed on the 11th November 1953. The area behind the card is a stamp that was used specifically to send parcels and post on this train service.
